I was born and raised in Switzerland. Both of my parents are very artistic and always encouraged my younger sister and me to be creative. I have been drawing, painting, and crafting all of my life. I have a Bachelor of Art Degree in Interior Design and Decoration. I worked six years in this field as an Interior Decorator in antique and furniture sales. In 1994 I moved from Switzerland to Dallas, Texas Where I for three years I studied art at the Collin County Community College, the Plano Recreation Centers, and with individual artists and organizations. The classes in art history, drawing, sketching, life drawing, color study, painting in oil, acrylics, watercolor, the study of collage and texture, photography, air brushing, encaustic- the ancient hot wax painting, sculpting, wood- and metalwork helped me find my niche in the art world. I like to build my own canvases and frames in my wood and metal workshop. I create works in oil or acrylic paint with lots texture and use of multi media. I cut and weld metal sheets to incorporate into a picture, mounting it to the frame. This gives it an interesting depth and relief-like effect. I paint my subjects with realism and attention to the use of color and value, or I work abstractly where texture and color are the subject.
